Petition in Support of “Labor Against Conquest”
Whereas, workers everywhere share a common interest in peace and stability, and conflict threatens livelihoods, human rights, and the ability of labor communities to organize freely;
Whereas, the United Nations Charter and General Assembly Resolution 3314 (1974) define aggression to include “the use of armed force by a State against the sovereignty, territorial integrity, or political independence of another State”;
Whereas, any annexation or invasion by the United States of a sovereign nation, particularly Canada or Mexico, or any other act that meets the UN definition of aggression, would disproportionately harm working families and undermine the principles of international solidarity;
Whereas, it is our moral and civic duty as workers to stand against all forms of unwarranted aggression and to deploy our collective power in defense of peace and human rights;
